Me on the Katy Trail
Yep, it's me Isa here on blogspot! I have been blogging at blogs.sun.com/isa, but I have decided that was a little too geeky for me. After all, I am just a little Chihuahua and I have other things to think about besides High Availability Systems and SAN!
Anyway, two Friday's ago my Mommy, brother Sammy and I drove up to OKC to see my Grandpa and Grandma. That's always fun, I get to play in the big yard and bark at the dogs next door! Which reminds me, Saturday morning I ran outside to go yell at the neighbor dogs, much to my surprise, one of them had crawled under the fence and was in MY YARD! It started chasing me and I started screaming really loud! Luckily my mommy was watching and came running out of the house screaming like a banshee! That's was kind of scary too!
Later that day my Aunt Teresa flew in from Minneapolis, that was cool! I gave her lots of nose love! She needed it! Sammy gave her lots of love too! We like my Aunt Teresa, she gives us treats.
Sunday morning, my Aunt T, Grandpa, my Mommy and I all piled into the jeep. They had three bikes loaded too. I didn't know where we were going, but I didn't really care cause I just like to go! Little did I know we would be on the damn road for what seemed like an eternity!
I had to sit in my Aunt T's lap while my Mommy drove... that was okay, but I really like to sit in my Mommy's lap and at the time I didn't know that Aunt T had issues with listening to my melodic voice.... that became clear to me later! We stopped some so we could all pee! Good thing cause I really needed to go! On down the road I tried to make sure they stayed on the right path, by pointing out road signs. We also passed some interesting establishments.
Finally, after several hours driving, we stopped! Thank God! I didn't know where we were but I was pretty sick of the truck! I didn't know that tomorrows adventure would make riding in the truck seem like heaven!
The next day we took off again, this time we didn't go far. We dropped Aunt T, Grandpa and their bikes off at a place were there use to be a railroad track. Fine by me! I thought Mommy and I were gonna go chill out and do fun stuff! Nope, we drove on down the road, stopped at another place that use to be a train track. Mommy unloaded her bike, loaded up her gear, strapped on my kangaroo pouch and put me in it! We took off down the trail! It was pretty scary at first, we seemed to be going pretty fast and the trail was very bumpy! Dust was getting in my eyes and my cozy little bag was hot! We hit some bumps so hard that I thought I might fall out and Mommy's legs kept hitting me in the butt as she pedaled! Not so good!
We finally met up with Aunt T and Grandpa. After 25 miles on the trail we finally packed it in for the day! I was happy to be off the damn dusty trail and heading back to our rooms in the very comfortable truck!
That evening we visited the capitol building! Now really, why would I want to do that? I did go up and down the steps to the Capitol building, but the only law I was inspired to make was that little four legged girls should not have to go up and down steps, oh yeah, little girls should be allowed unconcealed in restaurants!
Day three went much better than day two! Mommy adjusted my pouch so her legs weren't bumping in the butt, it was about time! I rode the bike with my Aunt T some too! This trail was much smoother than the first one and we got to stop a lot. Mommy, Teresa and Grandpa went all goofy over some of the bridges.... what the big deal? It's a bridge!
That night instead of going back to Jefferson City, we went to Columbia. I liked Columbia a lot! Right outside our room was a nice patch of grass where I could pee and poop! In the morning Mommy, Aunt T and I went to a place to have coffee. On the way is when I found out about Aunt T's disdain for my voice really loud in her ear! I just saw some people on the corner and thought the looked suspicious, so I felt is was my duty to make sure everyone was aware! Okay, so maybe I also bark at small children too, but they are really scary! Anyway Aunt T grabbed me by the scruff of my neck! I was shocked! I tried to bit her hand, but it was on my neck! She said this was discipline! I didn't know what discipline was, but I decided quickly I don't like discipline! I also decided maybe it wasn't such a good idea to bark loudly while in Aunt T's lap!
Later we were on the trail again... I've decided that bike riding isn't so bad... I would even do it again. People on the trail thought I was very cute.... one person said they hadn't seen a little girl ride a bike like me! I saw some dogs on the trail and barked at them, but fortunately Aunt T wasn't close enough to “discipline” and Mommy was busy riding her bike! HEE HEE
Day four rolled around, it was cold so we decide to go site seeing.... whatever that is. To me it just means we drove around a lot. I didn't bark while sitting on Aunt T's lap.
Day five we were headed home! Not much to say about that! I slept most the way and I didn't really care who's lap I was in! Bike riding is exhausting!
Well, I'm getting tired and I hear the covers calling me! Nibbles for Now! Love Isa
